The Carers’ Resource is a local, specialist service which is focussed on carers’ needs. We listen, we understand, we are non-judgemental and we help. We can provide information on everything from specific illnesses and disabilities to short breaks and holidays, from transport to long-term care. We can help carers to find out what support (practical, financial, emotional) is available and how to access it. Our team provides a supportive and creative environment, valuing carers’ skills and empowering them to achieve a better life for themselves and those they care for.

Our Vision-

1 in 10 people in the UK are carers.

Carers may look after family members, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability.

The care they provide is unpaid.

Carers are all different: they can be any age, from all walks of life and with different caring responsibilities, but what most have in common is that they often put their own needs last. With over ten years’ experience of working with carers, The Carers’ Resource understands that carers need care too.

Programmes and Activities-

With so many carers taking advantage of our services we are constantly looking for new supporters to help our work grow. Donations or support (in kind) are always gratefully received, as is individual, group or employee volunteering.

Volunteers already play a vital part in helping staff and carers in many different roles but we constantly need more people. Volunteers may become involved with admin work, fundraising, telephone or in befriending carers, providing transport for carers attending events and much more depending on their skills, interests and the amount of time they would like to give.
